Select the Display tab and post a screenshot of the result. here sorry for the late reply. The screenshot confirms DirectX 12 is available so there shouldn't be a problem.

My suggestion to you would be to definitely call DirecTV and tell them to update your equipment, as it sounds like it has not been updated in quite a long time. I have had directv for 5 years and have never had a box that had AV plugs.
