PHOENIX — A now-bankrupt furniture store is closing all of its roughly 370 locations across the country, including seven in the Valley.

In May this year, the iconic Thambi Magazine Store in Holland Village made the news after its owner announced it was closing for good. And now, another local family business with a long-standing history in Singapore's retail scene will be waving goodbye to its patrons.

American Freight, a furniture chain, will close down sites from Sherman to Dallas as part of its effort to shutter 328 stores nationwide and its online service.

Store closing sales have begun in-store and online, with discounts of up to 30% off the lowest ticketed prices.

A popular furniture store is closing more than 300 locations nationwide, including one in Austin. The Ohio-based chain American Freight is shutting down 30 locations in Texas, including its lone Austin storefront in northwest Austin at The Shops at Anderson Arbor.
