One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting on the last day of homecoming week at Alabama’s Tuskegee University early Sunday morning, according to the university.

According to authorities, the suspect, identified as Jaquez Myrick, 25, was found in possession of a handgun with a machine gun conversion device.

A shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama during a homecoming celebration on Sunday resulted in the death of an individual and more injuries, the university said. Footage posted on social media appears to show several gunshots fired and students fleeing from the scene. Several law enforcement agencies are responding to the incident.
