The hurricane made landfall on the island on Wednesday as a powerful Category 3 storm, bringing heavy wind and rain.

"Warmer-than-average temperatures are favored from the southern tier of the U.S. to the eastern Great Lakes, eastern seaboard [and] New England," NOAA said.
