Demolition began Thursday afternoon on the property at 59-147 Ke Nui Road by Sunset Beach that had started to erode into the ocean.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A beachfront home on Oahu’s North Shore is actively collapsing into the ocean. The former owner of the home off Ke Nui Road, near Sunset Beach, told Hawaii News Now Tuesday the property was owned by the bank because it fell into foreclosure.

"The people of Hawaii are now confronted with the consequences of property owners’ failures to take heed of the ocean’s warning signs of erosion.”

After parts of this home fell into the ocean, residents here on the North Shore are bracing for the worst. "All of our houses are next," he said. For years, residents like Dunphy have been pleading for help.
