The Republican-controlled state election board has made multiple 11th-hour changes to election rules heading into the Nov. 5th General Election. However, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger made it clear he thinks the changes won’t survive a legal challenge.

On Friday, the Election Board voted to require hand counting of ballots at every voting precinct in the state.

Less than 50 days before the U.S. presidential election, pro-Donald Trump allies in Georgia approved a controversial rule on Sept. 20. This would require counties to hand-count ballots cast at polling places on Election Day to make sure it matches the number of ballots tallied by voting machines.
