All U.S. airlines and other commercial operators have been banned from flying into Haiti for at least 30 days, the Federal Aviation Administration announced Tuesday.

The Federal Aviation Administration banned U.S. planes from flying less than 10,000 feet above Haiti. The move comes after a Spirit Airlines flight to Haiti was hit by gunfire and a JetBlue aircraft was also struck by a round.

The Federal Aviation Administration has banned flights to-and-from Haiti for at least 30 days after JetBlue and Spirit Airlines planes were hit by gunfire Monday during attempts to land in Port-au-Prince.
