FBI and Postal Service are investigating suspicious mail containing white powder sent to election offices in at least 16 states. None has been deemed hazardous so far.

The Virginia Department of Elections says an investigation is underway after they received a package with a suspicious white substance.

A suspicious parcel discovered at the Iowa Secretary of State's Office Monday was one of dozens of targeted mailings sent to election officials across the country this week. The parcels, deemed nonhazardous by officials,

The envelope came from a sender that referred to itself in the return address as “The United States Traitor Elimination Army,” a State Board of Elections employee said. The substance was determined to be not hazardous.

A suspicious package bound for Maryland’s State Board of Elections office was intercepted by the U.S. Postal Service before it could arrive, officials said Tuesday.
